Freeloading ‘Octomom’ Arrested for Welfare Fraud
“Octomom,” the woman who became famous after giving birth to octuplets, was arrested and charged with welfare fraud after she failed to report her income while receiving government benefits.
Nadya Suleman conceived all of her 14 children, including her octuplets through in-vitro fertilization and is a single mother. Because of her multiple pregnancies and pre-mature births, many of Suleman’s children have developmental and mental illnesses, including autism. The unemployed mother receives extra government money to pay for medications, home-health care and a range of other needs.
Suleman has also undergone multiple cosmetic surgeries including tummy-tucks and collagen infusions.
Suleman’s freeloading lifestyle caused her father, Ed Suleman, to speak out against his daughter’s ways. She’s “irresponsible,” he said.
Well, her irresponsible ways have caught up with her. She’s facing misrepresentation and perjury charges and could be sentenced up to nearly six years in prison.
